Kernohan Engineering
Established in 1972, Kernohan Engineering Ltd has gained a solid reputation for
reliability and quality workmanship in the marine, fishing, industrial, transport, and timber
industries.
Purchased by Kidson Construction Ltd in 1978 the company has grown to become
Nelsons foremost comprehensive mechanical engineering facility with a well-stocked
engineer’s supply store. Employing over 30 staff, Kernohan Engineering Ltd has several
operating divisions with the following capabilities:
- General engineering
- Fabrication and repairs
- Plant shutdown and maintenance
- Plant installation and servicing
- Spring making / steel tempering
- Boiler repairs
- Certified welding (NZ, USA, UK Standards) CNC production work
- Machining, fitting and turning including
- Stainless welding
- Commercial fishing equipment
- Metal spraying and finishing
- Supply store for engineering
- Repairs, refit and refurbishing of sea going vessels both at the dock and in the water
- Oil Rig Refits and Repairs
The Company is managed by professional engineers and staffed by competent and
experienced tradespeople, many of whom have long standing associations with the
industries the Company serves.
