Solutions at Work
Nelson Engineering Cluster
The Nelson Engineering Cluster was formed in 2002 when a group of Nelson businesses collaborated to discuss ways to grow the value of work being generated by Nelson based engineering companies.
These companies have provided ongoing services to Marine, Fishing, Forestry, Coal, Cement and most other industrial areas requiring engineering services for many years. It is the belief of members that by working as a cluster current services can be enhanced and larger Engineering project work can be attracted to the region.
The enthusiasm and input from the founding members resulted in the Nelson Engineering Cluster Inc. being formed and registered as an incorporation in May 2003. The cluster is fully supported and endorsed by Nelson City Council, Nelson Regional Economic Development Agency and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
There are eight financial members at present with the support of a further twenty Nelson companies, covering a wide range of skills and services. From hard core heavy engineering, to marine electronics and everything in between. These services are offered to clients primarily in the greater Nelson region, New Zealand and countries in the Pacific rim.
